5 Tips for Spring Cleaning PreparationFebruary 13, 2019
It’s starting to warm up a little bit which is a sure sign that Spring is on it’s way! And with it come the thoughts of the big ‘Spring Clean’. We decided to put together a few of our top tips to make the big Spring Clean that little bit easier this year!
1. Put Time in Your Calendar
Everyone is busy. However, this is not an excuse to skip out on Spring cleaning. It’s possibly been a year or more since your house last had a deep clean and this is the best time to finish another one. Resist the temptation to pass on this duty by putting time in your schedule to clean your place. Give yourself the time needed to fully complete your spring clean!
2. Prepare a List
There are numerous things that need to be accomplished. Make a list of items for everything that you want to accomplish. This will help you while cleaning to make sure that all tasks are completed.
You don’t have to wait to declutter your home. This is a task that can be accomplished anytime. It’ll also make it easier to do the real cleaning when the time comes for it. So sort through your unwanted bits and pieces in your closet now and remember it will make cleaning easier in the long run!
3. Purchase Supplies in Advance
Bags. Clothes. Brushes. Lightbulbs. Batteries. All of this needs to be brought in advance. This will prevent you from finding any reasons for stopping your cleaning. Prevent yourself from saying that, “you can’t throw something out,” because you ran out of trash bags. That’s a bad excuse and you know it. This is the year is about focusing on getting things done.
4. Be Realistic
Don’t get ahead of yourself. The focus on spring cleaning is “cleaning.” This doesn’t mean painting or building things. This is already a hectic time by managing your expectations you’ll be able to actually accomplish all of the things that you want to do.
5. Get Everyone Involved
Spring cleaning is for everyone! If you have a partner, roommate, or family to spare then take that list and divide it up amongst all the people in the house. You don’t have to do this alone.
