5 Ways to Quickly Spruce Up Your Bathroom

July 15, 2019

The bathroom can often be a forgotten room in your house. You may feel like you don’t use the room very much but it’s the first room you enter in the morning and the last room before you go to bed. So, we have created 5 easy steps to make sure your bathroom is at its best this summer.

  • Clean and declutter

Before you can spruce up any space you need to know the space, there is no better way to do this than to get everything clean and decluttered. After you have done this you will be able to see what items you need storage for in your bathroom and what you can dump. You may also be surprised at how well your old bathtub scrubs up with a good clean!

  • Make it functional

After decluttering whatever is left in your bathroom needs a good home. This can be hard in a room with limited space but there are lots of clever storage solutions. Think about how you use your bathroom on a daily basis, what needs to be there and how often it is used.

Some of our suggestions for ways to add storage in a small space are;

  • Hang wall hooks
  • Put shelves up
  • Create under the sink storage
  • Store towels and toilet roll as a display feature e.g. in a box
  • Upgrade fixtures

Updating your whole bathroom can be an expensive task and the likelihood is that your ceramic sink is still in very good nick. A more affordable way to add new life to your bathroom is to upgrade your fixtures such as taps. A new tap can change the style of your sink and make it feel new again.

  • Paint Tiles and Walls

Do you dislike the colour of your tiles but can’t afford a full bathroom remodel? Think about painting them. Tile paint is a great way to upgrade your tiles without ripping out your bathroom. If there are any non-tiled walls in your bathroom these can be painted also just make sure to use bathroom paint so it stands up to the moisture. Think about creating a colour scheme in your bathroom, we suggest using light colours to make the room feel bigger.

  • Accessorise

Lastly, after you make all these upgrades don’t forget to accessorise the room. Many people accessorise other areas of their house and forget about the bathroom. Consider adding plants to create a sense of life and vibrancy. The great bonus of bathroom plants is that they don’t require watering as they are kept moist from the steam.

Accessorising can really help pull a bathroom together and make it feel finished. They can also double up as functional containers so make sure to think about this when creating storage!
