Get Your Backyard Summer ReadyApril 29, 2019
Summer is almost here! What better way to enjoy the grand stretch than hanging out in your backyard. The perfect place for your children to run around or to enjoy a nice summer picnic. Many memories are made enjoying time in our backyards. Before the season officially arrives, make sure that your backyard is ready! Here are some handy tips to help you get started:
- Spruce Up Your Patio
After a long winter, your patio is going to need a bit of a make-over. Take the time to clean your patio. Start with sweeping off any dust and debris. Afterwards, this will help to determine if your patio needs to be power washed or if something needs to be fixed or replaced. When starting to spruce up the backyard, it’s important to start with the patio. If one is a bit of an eyesore, it can have a negative impact on the entire look of the yard. In addition to sprucing up the physical deck, check out your patio furniture. Clean off the furniture (even if its been sitting in storage) and replace the cushions if necessary.
- Check the Shed
Now is a good time to start some repairs on the shed in the back. Check if the roof leaks and for any holes in the side paneling. Then go a step further and organize all of the contents inside the space. This year, Spring Cleaning isn’t limited to the house.
- Prep your lawn
Grass always looks greener in the summer. Prep your lawn for summer by checking to see if you need to sow any new lawn seed. To prevent those dreaded brown spots in your lawn, remember to mow your lawn frequently and to water your lawn early in the morning. This is now a great opportunity to check if your lawnmower is in good condition or if it will require repairs or replacement.
The weather last summer was spectacular. If the weather is going to be half as good, then don’t miss out on the chance to enjoy summer in your own backyard.
